In addition to its physical space, the Center is a network of programs and groups intended to serve a diverse community. More than a dozen groups meet at the Center on a weekly or monthly basis. In addition to groups affiliated with the Center, we also provide free or low-cost meeting space to other groups and community organizations. Current programs and groups include:
Programs for Women
Lesbian & Bisexual Women’s Group – A peer support group for all lesbian, bisexual, and questioning women. We discuss all areas of lesbian and bisexual women’s lives, and provide support for women who are questioning or thinking about coming out. Phenomenal Woman – A peer support group for all women of color, discussing issues of relationships, families, children, coming out, and more! “My sexuality doesn’t distinguish who I am – I’m still a Phenomenal Woman!” Meets the second and fourth Tuesday of each month from 7:30 to 9 pm, beginning January 13 th, 2009. Women of Color Group -- A social and discussion group committed to providing a safe, confidential, and supportive space for lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and questioning women of all colors – for 20 years and running! Meets the second and fourth Thursday of every month at 7:30 p.m. Also meets the fifth Thursday of months when a fifth Thursday occurs. For more information, contact WOC@glccb.org
Women OUT and About -- A social group for lesbian, bisexual, and transgender women who want to meet new people while doing fun stuff. Meets every third Saturday of every other month. For more information contact Kelly at BWOAEvents@yahoo.com.
Programs for Men
Gay Fathers’ Coalition – A support network for gay fathers, their partners, and their children. It also provides a forum to discuss common concerns. Meets the second Friday of the month at 7:30 p.m.
Men Like Me - An open support group for adult males who love other men. Come discuss issues of coming out, homophobia, relationships, etc. in a safe and supportive space. The objective is to empower participants to take better care of themselves and each other. Facilitated by licensed clinicians. POZ Men - An LGBT-affirming peer support group for all HIV+ adult men. Meetings are the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month at 6:00 p.m. in Room 202. For more information contact pozmen@glccb.org.
Transgender Programs
Gender Identity Group (GIG) – A support group for anyone who is transgender, gender queer, or anyone who varies from traditional gender expression. Partners of Trans People - A peer support group that offers a safe space for the partners of people who identify as transgender, transsexual, androgynous, or elsewhere on the trans spectrum. The focus is on supporting partners through the unique challenges faced in trans relationships as well as more common relationship issues. Self-care strategies are emphasized to foster positive relationships with partners. Meetings are the second Saturday of each month at 8:00 p.m. in Room 202. Programs for Youth
Sufficient As I aM (SAIM) – The Youth and Young Adult Program serves youth 24 years old and younger. Included in this program is the support group Sufficient As I aM (SAIM). This is a support group for youth dealing with issues of sexuality, coming out, relationships, family, etc. It is an opportunity for youth to help one another in safe space supported by adult facilitators. The Youth and Young Adult Program also provides services and referrals for individual youth at risk of homelessness and sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). E-mail

Programs and Groups for Everyone
Achieve, Cultivate, and Educate (ACE) Enrichment Class Series - ACE classes provide learning opportunities for the LGBT community in a safe and affirming environment to enhance and enrich community members’ lives. For information regarding current class and course offerings visit the ACE webpage.
Alcoholics Anonymous – The only requirement for membership in Alcoholics Anonymous is a desire to stop drinking. Alcoholics Anonymous meets two times per week at the Gay and Lesbian Community Center. The two groups are the Chase Brexton Beginners Group meeting on Monday evening at 8:30 p.m. and the Green Group meets at 6:30 p.m. on Saturdays. – Maryland’s LGBT Community Newspaper. Begun as a monthly newsletter, the Baltimore Gay Paper (BGP) has been continuously published by the GLCCB since 1979. Now published bi-weekly as Gay Life, it has a readership of over 20,000 throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Health – The Health Committee coordinates efforts to educate the community on health related issues affecting LGBT persons.
HIV and STD Testing -
Testing is confidential and can be done for HIV and syphilis. Test results are generally available in in two weeks. Testing is available during these times:

Narcotics Anonymous – Meets every Sunday at 11:30 a.m.
Pride in the Arts – The GLCCB offers free and low-cost art events for the community on the fourth Friday of every month.

Pride in the Arts reception showcasing both emerging and established LGBT artists as well as quarterly movie nights showcasing LGBT filmmakers' works.
Yoga - Beginners' Yoga, $9.00 per person; drop-ins are welcome. Yoga mats provided. Sundays, 3:30PM.
